The face panel is a cast resin. The metal finishes are multiple coats of a paint that contains real metal powders suspended in a acrylic medium. The metal finishes may be accented by the application of waxes or various patinas producing agents to hasten the aging process of the metal powders. The finishes are clear coated with a voc free product to give the panel a harder finish. The marble finish is achieved with fillers and pigments being added to the resin. Please note that, just like in mother nature, no two marble finishes will look exactly alike.
The panel attaches by means of a tensioning mechanism that adjust both sides simultaneously so that the panel is always centered in the opening without effort. The tensioning mechanism is adjusted by the turn of a knob on the side of the panel that moves the tensioners in and out to press against the perpendicular side walls of the firebox. Safety chains are provided for hooking to the screen rod or any other area of the fire box where the hooks will fit. The safety chains will prevent the panel from falling out of the opening in case you fail to tighten the tensioners appropriately.
Optional floor stands are also available for storing your panel in a different location when the fireplace is in use.
